Independance Day - Gig on Wheels

First of all, Happy Independance Day to you all! Now here's something many of us have not seen before. Pakistan Youth Alliance in collaboration with Spotted brings to you The Gig on Wheels on 14th August. Every 14th August, we get on our rides and block the Main Boulevard of Lahore. Its almost a tradition. So we thought that when we block the Main Boulevard this time, lets have some music to entertain you while we do it. PYA got the up and coming band Moen jo Daro's vocalist Mujeeb to perform on a truck. The journey started from Race Course and within minutes it turned into a Gig on Wheels. The audience followed on bikes, cars and what not! Just Imagine a lahori decorated truck having a live band in it performing for lahoris with thousands of bikes/cars behind it ,what atmosphere was it? lucky for you ,you dont have to use much of your imagination as you can watch videos/pics of this event here on spotted.

The destination of the Gig on Wheels was the Liberty Market round about. As the truck came to a halt on the side and performance continued, a massive crowd gathered. People got off their rides and on their feet! Some even enjoyed the music while on their rides! I looked around and laughed... I had never seen anything like it before.

Boys, girls, families and cops alike enjoyed Moen jo Daro perform songs like "Dil Dil Pakistan" and "Jeevay Pakistan". I salute Mujeeb for getting the crowd to unite, sing and dance in harmony! No one cared about the heat, differences in social status, security or noise... For those few hours, being Pakistani came first!
