Penning a Revolution – Manal Farrukh Khan

by admin on November 18, 2009

When the pen rebels
The subservient tone of blue
Merges and mixes
To evolve, as defiant red
Those lethargically thrown words
Which were once, a tool
To escape lazy Sunday afternoons
Can catalyze,

Mobilize
If, conscience adamantly asks to
Heart no longer feebly beats
But, palpates to dissipate
It’s intrinsic rhythmic regularity
And then suddenly,
Like thoughts aligning
To metamorphose
A phoenix,

Shall rise
From the ashes
Of a practical man

They say,
Slaves of convenience
Sometimes conceive
Such potent poetry
That resuscitated are
Suicidal societies

And a phoenix
Again breathes

LOVE the way it is composed! Brilliant work Manal!

“A phoenix,

Shall rise
From the ashes
Of a practical man

To metamorphose
A phoenix,
Shall rise
From the ashes
Of a practical man”
